When using service orders, there are three order phases that can be used: Forecast, Revised Forecast and Ordered.
Forecast Order Phase
Forecast service orders can be created from various service order screens throughout the system by using the Add Forecast Order action. Forecast Orders typically represent orders for what is expected to be ordered for an event and are often used for budgets or for predicting revenue. Forecast Orders do not have Work Orders created for them, cannot be closed or invoiced and cannot have payments made against them. To learn more about Forecast Orders, please see the Forecast Orders article.
Revised Forecast Order Phase
Revised forecast service orders can be created from various service order screens throughout the system by using the Add Revised Forecast Order action. Revised forecast orders allow you to create new forecast orders based on changes to the original forecasted orders. Revised Forecast Orders do not have Work Orders created for them, cannot be closed or invoiced and cannot have payments made against them. To learn more about Revised Forecast Orders, please see the Revised Forecast Orders article.
Ordered Order Phase
All non-forecast and non-revised forecast service orders that are created are considered Service Orders in the Ordered phase. Service Orders can be created from various screens throughout the system by using the Add Service Order action. When a service order is used, the items have been ordered, work orders have been created, the orders can be closed and invoiced and payments can be made against them.
