1. The Login.XML file does not get created in the folder
This could be due to the logged in user not having read/write access to the installation folder of the trace service. Right click on the installation folder go to the security tab and assign read/write access to the logged in user.
2. Why doesn’t the EBMS Email Trace Service start?
This could be due to any of the below factors:
a. Make sure that the database source and catalog (database name) are correct in the below line (check for any spelling mistakes and don’t forget the ; at the end)
DbParm=Data Source=mario;Initial Catalog=qpam1970H;
b. Is the SQL server running? Make sure that the SQL server on which the above database is hosted is running.
c. Make sure that the OrgCode defined is correct and exist in the above database that you have specified
OrgCode=10
d. Check the GMToffset is defined correctly, as shown below in the example
GMToffset=+10
e. Make sure that the UngerboeckHost is defined correctly. The URL for the v20 installation in the below example is http://localhost:20705
UngerboeckHost=http://localhost:20705/WebExtensionMethods.asmx
NOTE: make sure to include the /WebExtensionMethods.asmx at the end.
f. If you are only setting up one organisation, then make sure to remove the parameters for the second organisation. Make sure the below section is removed:
DbParm1=Data Source=SERVER_NAME;Initial Catalog=DATABASE_NAME;
OrgCode1=OrganizationCode
GMToffset1=NegativePositiveOffsetFromGMT
UngerboeckHost1=UNGERBOECK_HOST/WebExtensionMethods.asmx
[USISystemEnvironment]
PrefLogin=ADMIN_LOGIN
g. The password for the preferred login account may have been changed. If the password has changed you would need to recreate the login.xml file again. Please refer to the installation guide on how to create the login.xml file.
PrefLogin=USIADMIN
