It is possible to configure the Currency Symbol displayed on a Crystal Report based on Ungerboeck configuration when using tables that store amounts (for example, AP105_PAYMENTS, AR020_TRANSACTIONS, ER100_ACCT_ORDER, ER101_ACCT_ORDER_DTL, among others). Most of these tables will have a column related to the currency of the amount described (for example, AP105_CURRENCY, AR020_FC_CODE, ER100_CURRENCY, ER101_CURRENCY, etc.)
These currency codes are tied to the table MM020_CURRENCY_CODES, that contains a field named MM020_SYMBOL that stores the symbol used to represent the currency.
To dynamically set the Currency Symbol on a numeric field in Crystal Reports:
- Right click on the numeric field and select the option Format Field...
- Go to the Number tab and click on the <Customize...> button. This will open a new window labeled "Custom Style".
- Go to the Currency Symbol tab and enable the option labeled "Enable Currency Symbol"
- By default, the symbol is "$". Click on the button at the right of the "Currency Symbol" field. This will open the Formula Workshop window.
- Use the following field to set the Currency Symbol: {MM020_CURRENCY_CODES.MM020_SYMBOL}
Note: Table MM020_CURRENCY_CODES needs to be included in the Crystal Report and properly linked to the reporting table in order for the correct symbol to be displayed.
