When building custom reports, there may be a situation where a subreport on another report would be beneficial on the new report. Think something like a subreport showing payments on an order or bookings for an event. While copying a subreport is not possible, there is a way to reproduce the subreport on the new report.
On the report containing the existing subreport, right click on the subreport and choose "Save Subreport As". Save the report to a location that is easy to access.
On the new report, add a subreport, but instead of selecting the Report Wizard, select "Choose an existing report". This will allow you to select an existing Crystal Report file. Select the file saved from the existing report. Add the report links and the subreport will work on the new report.
This process will work with any Crystal Report file as long as the file does not have any subreports on it. If a report with subreports is added, all sub-reports will be removed before it is added to the new report file. The original Crystal Report file will not be modified.
