Instead of having to delete then add a new field and then having to reformat the new object, you can do the following:
1. From the Field Explorer, select the new field.
2. On the keyboard, use Shift-Alt. When these keys are used, the cursor on the screen will change to a thick left/right arrow icon.
3. Drag and drop on the field to be replaced.
Notes:
- The fields must be the same data type
- Most formatting is retained but verify to ensure nothing has been removed
- The above will only change the design of the report layout. Formulas are not affected.
