Modify an Existing iEBMS Web Site
iEBMS requires the application pool to run on .NET 4. If you run iEBMS environments on different Enterprise versions, you need to create a new application pool and modify iEBMS and all iEBMS applications to use the new application pool. This ensures that all the iEBMS versions run on the proper application pools.
Follow the instructions in this article if the following conditions apply:
- Upgrading iEBMS to v19.82
- Using the same iEBMS website for the upgraded files
- There are multiple iEBMS sites on different versions using the same application pool
Create the Application Pool
First, create an application pool specifically for the v19.82 iEBMS site.
- Open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager from Administrative Tools.
- Expand the web server name and highlight Application Pools.
- Right-click on Application Pools and select New - Add Application Pool.
- Name the application pool Enterprise and verify the .NET CLR Version is v4.0.30319.
- Click OK.
- In the Application Pools screen within IIS, highlight the new application pool, right-click and select Advanced Settings.
- Verify that Enable 32-Bit Applications is set to True and the Process Model Identity is set to Network Service.
- Click OK.
Once the new application pool is created, you need to modify the existing iEBMS website to work with .NET Framework 4.5.2. The site bindings, SSL information, and WebConfiguration.exe information should remain intact. If you run into any problems with this, contact the Client Care Team.
- Locate the website in IIS, right-click, select Manage Application and then Advanced Settings.
- Click the […] button next to the existing Application Pool and the Select Application Pool screen will display.
- From the drop-down, select the new .NET 4.0 application pool.
- Click OK.
- Click OK on the Advanced Settings screen.
Repeat this process on each of the applications under the main site (bin, bum, coe, etc.). This is due to a limitation in IIS where the application pool of the main site does not trickle down into sub-applications when changed.
Once complete, navigate to c:\Inetpub\iEBMS and locate the WebConfiguration.exe. Right-click on the .exe file and select Run as administrator.
Make a small change to activate the Apply button. Click the Apply button, then reverse the change and click OK to close the screen.
