Market classes and sub-classes are available for use with group profiles and event opportunities. They are commonly used to create a hierarchical classification for reporting purposes, or to define the interest of a market or group in a potential event.
Market classes can be used without the addition of market sub-classes.
Add a Market Class
- Click Market Classes from the Main Menu. The Market Classes page opens.
- Click Add. The Add Market Class window opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Description - Description of the market class.
- Code - Unique alphanumeric code used by the system. The code is a maximum of three characters.
- Click OK.
Add a Market Sub-Class
- Click Market Classes from the Main Menu. The Market Classes page opens.
- Right-click the market class requiring a sub-class.
- Click Edit. The Edit Market Class window opens.
- Expand the Market Sub Classes section.
- Click Add in the Market Sub Classes header. The Add Market Sub Class window opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Code - Unique alphanumeric code used by the system. The code is a maximum of three characters.
- Description - Description of the market sub-class.
- Click OK to save the sub-class and return to the Edit Market Class window.
- Repeat steps 5-7 to create additional market sub-classes.
- Click OK.
Change a Market Class
You can change the description of the market class after you have created it. When you change the description, it updates wherever the market class is used. If you don't want to update already existing data, then you must add a new market class using the steps in Add a Market Class.
- Click Market Classes from the Main Menu. The Market Classes page opens.
- Select the market class to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Market Class window opens.
- Make the desired change.
- Click OK.
Change a Market Sub-Class
You can change the description of the market sub-class after you have created it. When you change the description, it updates wherever the market sub-class is used. If you don't want to update already existing data, then you must add a new market sub-class using the steps in Add a Market Sub-Class.
- Click Market Classes from the Main Menu. The Market Classes page opens.
- Select the market class to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Market Class window opens.
- Expand the Market Sub Classes section.
- Right-click the market sub-class to edit.
- Click Edit. The Edit Market Sub Class window opens.
- Make the desired change.
- When editing a market sub-class, you can change the Master Market Class associated with the market sub-class, essentially moving a sub-class to a different market class. Use this feature to reorganize sub-classes.
- Click OK.
